I was interested in a quote I saw today and am calling all my writer readers to discuss:
A writer is a person for whom writing is more difficult than it is for other people.
- Thomas Mann
I'm not quite sure whether I agree or disagree yet, but am very intrigued by the quote, I'd love to hear others' thoughts on it.

Initially, I though, that's crazy. No way. But then I began to think about those who are not writers. Someone who does not write often, likely, will not care as much how a sentence is constructed, or when it's the right time to use a comma, or what difference it would make using less adverbs.
Someone who does not write often, likely, won't obsess over how a word or a sentence or a whole paragraph sounds. Perhaps writing is more difficult for them, but their answer to the problem will be either to avoid doing it or keep whatever they write to a minium.
I don't know...it's an interesting quote. Made me think more than I thought it would when I first read it. Thanks for sharing.
LOL! It strikes me as funny. I know the more I write, the harder it gets. I have no idea why!
Non-writers sure think writing is easy, though.
and the less I write the more miserable I am!
Haha, that is very very true spyscribbler and EK, the more I write the more I push and challenge myself to be better and the more I struggle with molding my craft... and if I'm not writing, I'm sure my hubby can tell you how pleasant of a person I am! :)
when u write u need to be true and uncensorered yet acceptable and relevant ,a writwer on the other hand doesnt have one idea but a galaxy of fleeting ideas constantly coming and going in and out of memory thats what makes things difficult
